Travel Baseball information for 11u and 12u
Regulation "Big Barrel" bats.
70 foot bases; 50 foot pitching distance
Pitching form stretch/pick-off plays.
Different cut-off/bunt coverage responsibilities
Drop third strike.
Teams consist of 12 players
Off-season (Oct 15-Dec 20) opportunities for players interested in skill development and/or baseball conditioning through programs offered at Naperville Baseball Academy, NWS training partner, at discounted rates. NWS players have 10 - 1 hour Speed & Agility sessions included in players fees.
Early January through mid-March.
Team indoor workouts, generally twice per week to prepare for season at Naperville Baseball Academy, The Baseball Sweatshop, Naperville Yard and other facilities as needed.
Outdoor practice to begin in March as weather permits.
Season Schedule - Approximately 45 - 50 total games
Season runs from early/mid-April to mid/late-July
5 or 6 tournaments (usually minimum of 3 games)
*Usually 3 or 4 local tournaments,1 or 2 out-of-town tournaments (TBD by individual teams)
Home/Away games--1 or 2 single games during the week;single games or DH's on non-tournament weekends. Includes 18-20 games in league play (Western Suburban League or similar)and some practice games.
Practice(varies depending on game schedule)to continue player and team growth in baseball fundamentals and concepts.
Naperville White Sox will offer fall baseball opportunities that may include baseball skill development sessions and/or fall baseball leagues/tournaments from late August to early October.
Home games fields include Nike and Frontier Parks.
Practice Fields: Various locations in Naperville.
Players will be positioned to best suit teams needs and player abilities.
Most, if not all, games are continuous batting order with free substitution.
Equal field playing time is not guaranteed, but individual player development will be a priority.
Uniform and Equipment
Players purchase 2 uniforms and NWS helmet with logo (Sizing in November; approximate cost of $225)
High quality catcher's gear will be provided for catchers.
Players and family will have the opportunity to purchase NWS spirit wear and other baseball apparel, baseball bags, etc.
A practice jersey and cap are included with players fees.
Playing travel baseball is a serious commitment. Players are expected to regularly attend and fully participate in both games and practices, working to improve their skills and help their teams. Player priority should be baseball when in season(March - July), and make as off season/pre-season workout sessions as possible if involved in other sports.
2018 players fees are $1,385.00 paid in 4 installments.
1st - $385.00 due when accepting offer
2nd - $350.00 due September 1st
3rd - $350.00 due October 1st
4th - $300.00 due November 1st
This fee goes towards payment for pre-season/season cost including: baseballs and equipment, indoor facility rental, field rental/lights, tournaments, league entry fees, insurance, umpires, and other program administration. (uniforms and costs related to hotel, food, etc. for out of town tournaments are the responsibility of the individual families.)
NWS runs a Super Bowl, this is the only fundraising required of NWS families to keep cost reasonable and to provide funding for additional baseball development opportunities(i.e, special team instruction by NBA or other expert instructors) Details to be provided in the fall.
Partnership with Naperville Baseball Academy
The Naperville Baseball Academy is the home of The Naperville White Sox. NWS players have a membership at the NBA with limited access January thru March and unlimited for the remainder of the year. NWS teams/players benefit from a regular practice facility use and discounted private lessons, camps, and clinics.
