To Provide high school age players a challenging and rewarding travel baseball experience.
To continue to develop fundamental baseball skills, knowledge and concepts, fitness for high school baseball, and prepare players for the opportunity to play college baseball
To continue to emphasize teamwork and sportsmanship
To compete against other highly competitive travel teams
To continue to have fun and foster the "love of the game"
Teams will consist of 15 players and may include pitcher-only players.
Off-season opportunities for players interested in skill development and/or baseball conditioning through programs offered at Naperville Baseball Academy, The Baseball Sweat Shop, Naperville Yard, and NWS training partner, at discounted rates. Players looking to play at a high level and are considering baseball in college should engage in off-season training to refine and improve baseball fundamentals and skill, and build strength, fitness, and speed.
December through February.
Team indoor workouts, generally twice per week to prepare for season at Naperville Baseball Academy, The Baseball Sweat Shop and other facilities as needed.
Outdoor practice to begin in March as weather permits.
Season Schedule - Approximately 7 Tournaments (usually a minimum of 4 games) Players Guranteed 4 tournaments
Late May/Early June-Practice/Practice games
Early June-July-- 6 or 7 weekend tournaments (usually a minimum of 4 games)
Tournaments entered will be reputable tournament organizations with emphasis on providing highly competitive tournaments and provide players opportunity for college exposure, especially as high school players advance in age.
Tournament locations include both Chicago area and out of town venues.
Players are guaranteed to play a minimum of 7 tournaments, some will play more.
Naperville White Sox will offer fall baseball opportunities that may include baseball skill development sessions and/or fall baseball leagues/tournaments from late August to early October.
Players will be positioned to best suit teams needs and player abilities.
Equal field playing time is not guaranteed, but individual player development will be a priority.
Uniform and Equipment
Players purchase 2 uniforms and NWS helmet with logo (Sizing in November; approximate cost of $225)
High quality catcher's gear will be provided for catchers.
Players and family will have the opportunity to purchase NWS spirit wear and other baseball apparel, baseball bags, etc.
Playing travel baseball is a serious commitment. Players are expected to regularly attend and fully participate in both games and practices, working to improve their skills and help their teams. Player priority should be baseball when in season(March - July), and make as offseason/pre-season workout sessions as possible if involved in other sports.
$1,625 Per Player (plus uniform, fitting held in November)
1st Payment $250 due upon acceptance to secure roster spot
2nd Payment $375 due Sept. 1, 2016 3rd Payment $500.00 due October 1, 2016 4th Payment $500.00 due November 1, 2016
This fee goes towards payment for pre-season/season cost including: baseballs and equipment, indoor facility rental, field rental/lights, tournaments, league entry fees, insurance, umpires, and other program administration.(uniforms and costs related to hotel, food, etc. for out of town tournaments are the responsibility of the individual families.)
Some fundraising will be required of NWS families to keep cost reasonable and to provide funding for additional baseball development opportunities(i.e, special team instruction by NBA or other expert instructors) Super Bowl Pool is the only fundraiser scheduled by the NWS.
Partnership with Naperville Baseball Academy
The Naperville Baseball Academy is the home of The Naperville White Soxs. NWS players have a membership at the NBAwith limited acess January thru March and unlimited for the remainder of the year. NWS teams/players benefit from a regular practice facility use and discounted private lessons, camps, and clinics.
